I’ve been using MyFitnessPal and MapMyFitness for about two years, and I’ve recently discovered the challenges on MapMyFitness. I like to think of the challenges as lottery tickets I buy with time, instead of money. I take out the trash, get the mail, walk Lola, and record my walks for the miles. I’ve even started jogging in the mornings.
I want to win the $200 Target gift card that Champion USA is giving away, but I know the odds are against it.
I really want to win the $2500 gift card that Academy Sports + Outdoors is giving away. I already know what I’d get… tandem kayaks!
But I’ve noticed something on the Academy Live Fit 2014 Leader Board. In 1st place is James N. who went 2799 miles in 10 hours 4 minutes in 2 workouts. So this guy averages 279.9 mph while running / walking / biking.
WTF? James N. you stink. Is integrity a lost concept? What’s the point of winning, if you didn’t actually walk or bike?
At least it’s a random drawing from each group, so everyone has a chance. Even the cheaters.
